About RGBlind
We believe that great design should be accessible to everyone, regardless of how they see color. RGBlind helps designers and developers create more inclusive digital experiences.
Our Mission
Here's a fact that surprises most people: about 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women have some form of color vision deficiency. That's a huge number of people experiencing the web in ways designers never anticipated.
We're here to close that gap. Our tools give designers and developers the clarity they need to understand exactly how their work appears to users with different color perception—no guesswork, just accurate, science-backed simulations.
Good accessibility shouldn't be complicated or expensive. That's why everything here is free, straightforward, and built to fit naturally into your existing workflow.
Why Choose RGBlind?
Built with accuracy, privacy, and accessibility in mind
Scientific Accuracy
Based on Machado et al. 2009 research with physiologically accurate color vision simulation.
Privacy First
All processing happens locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
Universal Access
Free for everyone, always. Accessibility tools should be available to all.
Community Driven
Open source project built by designers and developers for the community.
The Science Behind RGBlind
Based on peer-reviewed research for accurate simulation
RGBlind uses the color vision deficiency simulation matrices developed by Machado, Oliveira, and Fernandes in their 2009 research paper "A Physiologically-based Model for Simulation of Color Vision Deficiency."
This approach provides the most accurate simulation available by modeling the actual physiological differences in color perception rather than using simplified approximations.
Open Source & Community
Built by the community, for the community
RGBlind started as a side project and grew into something we're genuinely proud of. We're designers and developers who got frustrated with the lack of good, free accessibility tools—so we built our own.
Whether you're double-checking a color palette before a client presentation, testing an interface for accessibility compliance, or teaching students about inclusive design, we've got you covered.
